By now, unless you live under a rock, you have heard of what happened January 6 , 2021. Protestors gathered that day to express what many believed was a stolen election. Since election day, there have been numerous allegations of voting irregularities. Many of the people present in D.C, dealt with bitterness; In their souls, men and women who supported 45 felt as though the system had either dismissed or blatantly ignored the allegations presented before them. The cable media such as Fox News, CNN, NBC, and other outlets throughout the last several months mocked at anyone who dared to suggest it was credible. Social media giants would constantly put up memos or “fact-check” all opinions that argued the allegations were credible. Our politicians, while there were anomalies, treated similarly to the thought the allegations were true.
Imagine not only being laughed at as if you were crazy, but treated as one. You present the truth, but because they have more money thus power, you get squashed like a bug. Why? You went against the narrative. I know those “elite” for lack of a better term, don’t care about the truth. Ask one of the employees from the New York Times, Kevin Roose. He tweeted back in November about a week after the election, “It is possible for a story to be factually accurate *and* for it to be part of the misinformation campaign aimed at undermining confidence in the election.” Plain English, you can tell us the truth all you want, but if it goes against OUR perspective what happened, we will manipulate and silence you. You know I call that gaslighting, but some prep jackass will probably attempt to tell me otherwise.
This is the environment that was created by the elite. Not Trump, contrary to popular belief. This fueled anger with the condescending attitude that lead to the “Stop the Steal” rally. Trump, Powell, Giuliani, and other pundits who suggested widespread voter fraud transpired, are not responsible for the lost in faith in our electoral process. Any sensible human being who’s open-minded to the idea of the allegations held weight, bare no accountability for that matter either. It is human nature to become more suspicious when people constantly tell you there’s nothing to look or get told their eyes need to be fact-checked if they did. Trying to distort the truth and form a different reality results what happened January 6. What’s the truth? Voting fraud did take place, and Trump’s lawyers didn’t have the time to collect enough evidence to prove to the courts the irregularities affected the outcome. The amount of evidence needed to showcase to the courts the fraud affected a result would have required insurmountable time-something his lawyers didn’t have. It does not invalidate anyone’s beliefs who thought widespread irregularities occurred. Not hard to ease the tension with that analysis right? The truth will set you free!
January 6 should be remembered how gaslighting an entire segment of the population’s concerns will lead people to the extreme. Granted, compared to what we saw last summer, this was vanilla as livelihoods were destroyed and the media turned a blind-eye. I remember the memes that came out of it, blasting CNN for the propaganda. “Mostly peaceful protest,” as there was a building burning in the background. Here at least they went after the very people who you and I are pissed off at. The people who just voted to spend billions of dollars to foreign countries despite being a relief package for Americans. They couldn’t allocate the money more responsibly to pay back TAXPAYER dollars more than $600, but I digress. Least to say, the people whom disrupted the process of certifying the election share that resentment too. And while I condemn the violence towards police officers, I applaud the disruption. Anyone who thinks we should trust them still lives in a bubble. Alas, that’s my opinion. Regardless, my prayer is the PUBLIC SERVENTS remember who they work for. A reminder that election integrity is still a concern. We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend at least half the country believes the results aren’t legitimate. That side put up for the last four years on how Russia managed to manipulate the 2016 cycle. Four years to validate why their candidate lost. Now the same people who put up with that are being told our own citizens aren’t capable of manipulating the results. If I had to pick as to which election hack was more plausible, Russia would not be my first pick. What do you think America?
