As someone who values free speech, it brings me satisfaction that Parler found a server to host them. Before Amazon’s stunt, Parler’s popularity was limited to staunch conservatives with a string of liberals here and there. The company was supposed to be the alternative to Twitter. They were growing in number given how toxic Twitter had become with the double standard of free speech-silencing those on the right who dared to question progressive ideology. Then, the events at Capitol Hill unfolded. The monopolies banded together to purge any person associated with the right, leading Parler to be dropped by Amazon’s server. Unfortunately, it didn’t end there as all venders including their email providers, lawyers, and text message services left them to dry out.
On paper, it appeared the disenfranchisement was successful. Megyn Kelly said they were done and I wrote how it seemed the death punch was handed. Out of all the companies to host the small business, it was Russian servers who stepped up. Prediction? Their popularity will soar on a bipartisan scale as to give the monopolies the middle finger. The unforeseen consequences by the ministers of truth. Another unforeseen event is that we live in a era where Russia values free speech more than our own institutions. We shouldn’t be too surprised-they like those Chinese checks!
During the Cold War in the 20th century, the American press would always poke fun at our rival. The Soviet’s press was laughable as their stories were controlled by the government. The Soviet used the press to push their propaganda no matter how untrue the narrative was. Nobody was allowed to have a dissenting opinion from their government without their life being at stake. The press would assassinate people’s character along the way, brainwashing their citizens into hating an anybody who dared to question the status quo. The American press on the other hand presented the truth. Its interest was to the people, not the government. Dioluge was encouraged in American media. People from all sides would converse with each other-allowing ourselves to make educated choices concerning life, government, and culture. Freedom of thought separated Americans from any communist regime-it was a model for other nations to envy. Nobody had to worry about facing consequences of any sort with differing perspectives. Do you see some similarities between America today and the the fallen Soviet Union? The contradiction of the first amendment versus what’s being desired by those in power? Good, you should.
American companies are being used by the government to funnel policies they cannot get away with constitutionally. Where’s the proof? Look at the circumstances. Since the BEFORE the election, actions taken by big tech monopolies and the news media have matched the rhetoric of politicians whom consider themselves as “woke.” Forget the Hunter Biden debacle-I can go back as far as 2014 when the press lied about Michael Brown! They ran stories how he was shot in cold blood despite raising his hands to surrender. It turned out during the investigation, Brown did not willfully give up to the officer as his DNA reeked all over police officer’s uniform. At that moment in time though, the media along with the politicians pushed the narrative it was racially charged without provocation. It manipulated a segment of the population into believing we were living in the Jim Crow era still. Results? People rioted, destroying livelihoods among the innocents. And now politicians such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) are pushing the narrative that anyone who sided with Trump at any point should be silenced. They’ve wanted this as shown by their rhetoric the last four years; January 6 was the clause.
The actions have matched their standard-shutting Trump’s social media accounts, businesses, and banks cutting ties with him along with conservatives. Parler got signaled out shortly after. Then you had CNN anchor Don Lemmon, suggesting anyone who voted for Trump sided with the KKK along for “preserving whiteness”. He might as well be a spokesman for AOC. Remember, her along with others called for accountability as to affect how people conduct business with them (Trump voters) in the future from any institution. The mindset resembles to what lead to the Reichstag Fire Decree in 1933 at Germany.
Liberals should be the loudest voices right now against the attack on free speech. Conservatives have been battling this war by themselves for too long. And many of those on the right feel powerless. Right now, liberals control the corporations, big tech, news media, education, entertainment, and federal government. All the fears people had with Trump’s presidency concerning losing rights, never happened. Even with the flamboyant rhetoric that spewed out of his mouth at times, he never advocated for a group to be silenced in their dissent with him. There was never a conservative with a platform that suggested in censoring those whom disagree with either. I believe the majority of people in power right now as mentioned above, are true liberals. Sensible to handle a disagreement while not pushing for the idea to silence someone else. It’s the woke group (alt-left) of their side they keep allowing themselves to pander to. Ultimately selling their souls out trying to appease them. The woke will turn on anyone; it’s happened to J.K Rowling, Kevin Hart, Eric Bolling, and Joe Rogan!
That alt-left is NOT the majority, but it has the loudest voice. Conservatives should be encouraging liberals to leave the toxic relationship with the woke of their side. They are not our enemies nor have been. Conservatives alike must leave the toxic relationship that suggests anyone on the left are evil. Our common ground is both ideologies believe in free speech. Uniting on this issue will be our country’s only chance in winning the war on censorship. That means celebrating the fact Parler made a small comeback despite the odds. America was always about cheering for the little guy right? Democracy perishes when people in power don’t speak up on behalf of others.

This is great! I had no idea how similar modern America is to Soviet Russia. Morbidly amusing, and pretty concerning. I love the balanced, hopeful, and motivating approach this article takes! Great piece.
